What is Alpha Testing?

Alpha Testing is an early stage of software testing performed by a small group of internal users. Its purpose is to identify bugs, issues, and gaps in functionality before the product is released to external users. It often includes testing core features but may not focus on the user experience or final design.

  • How to apply it:
    • Select a group of internal testers familiar with the product or system to identify major issues.
    • Create a checklist of key functionalities that need to be tested. This ensures all critical areas are covered.
    • Record any issues found during Alpha Testing in a bug tracking tool and prioritize fixing them before moving to Beta Testing.
    • Tip: Alpha Testing is best conducted in a controlled environment, where testers can closely communicate with developers to address issues as they arise.
