René Praestholm

Rene Praestholm is the Chief Executive Officer of Magnetic. He has spent over 25 years building, scaling, and leading software businesses that serve creative agencies and professional services firms.

Rene's career is almost uniquely focused on the professional services software space. He started as a Project Manager at inCorp (1998-2001), then joined WorkBook Software A/S as COO and Partner - a role he held for over 15 years (2002-2017). Rene built deep operational expertise in exactly the category Magnetic now serves. He understands the problem space not just from selling to agencies, but from building and running the software they depend on.

WorkBook was acquired by Deltek in 2027 - the largest enterprise PSA vendor in the market, and Rene spent 5 years with Deltek in senior global roles. As VP of Global Agency Solutions (2017-2020), he led Deltek's agency-facing product strategy worldwide. He then became Senior Director of Global Partners & Alliances (2020-2022).

In 2023, Rene joined the Silversoft group as Chief Growth Officer, and in 2024 took over as CEO of Magnetic. He brings to Magnetic something very few SaaS CEOs can claim: hands-on operational experience from every level of the professional services software stack, from building it, to selling it at enterprise scale, to now leading a company that's challenging both with a more integrated, more accessible approach.

Rene is based in Denmark and writes about the future of professional services operations, CRM strategy, business growth for professional services firms, and the evolving PSA landscape.
